Update

I know that I say this every time that I blog...but seriously I suck at blogging. I don't know why it is so hard for me! But here I am so I will give you a little update on our family.

On March 16th Brooklyn turned 2. I really can't believe that we have a two year old. Sometimes she is a little stinker but most of the time she is so sweet. I know she is going to be such a good big sister because she cares so much about everyone else and loves to help out. One of our biggest problems is she is too dang smart. She has figured out of our child locks she can either open then and if she can't she has learned how to break them off. And she is already trying to reason with us. The other night she was watching woody (toy story 3) and I told her it was time to get in the bath and she said "no mom, its okay I all clean I watchin woody." And she constantly tells us "dis a minute mom" or when I tell her to clean up her toys she will either tell me she is too little and mom do it or "no I clean up later." She is also quite the master at stalling bedtime. She has every excuse and some of them are so smart I wonder if she is really only two. My mom said to me today if they tested her intelligence on her vocabulary alone she would be so far ahead. It is so funny to hear all the things she says come out of someone so little. One of the many things we love about our little monkey is that she is such a good little sharer! She loves to share everything. We are kind of nervous for when the baby gets here because she loves to share food. If she is eating anything she wants you to have some. Brooklyn is also very sensitive and does not like getting in trouble. All I have to do is talk to her sternly and she will cry and say "I sorry mommy". But we do have the occasional times where she does not want to say sorry and will cry in timeout for like 15 minutes because she doesn't want to say it. She is always trying to take care of everyone and help with anything and everything that is being done. She loves to help me clean especially the mirrors. Every night Casey and I sing her primary songs before bed and the other night she was playing with some of her toys and started to sing some of the songs. Casey and I were in shock. She knew every word to I love to see the temple, I have a family here on Earth, Give said the little stream, and Twinkle twinkle little star (I know there are more but I can't think of them right now). After she finished singing the first song we were blown away! So we kept asking her to sing another song. That is how we discovered that she knew all the words. We told my family about this so when my mom was babysitting the yesterday my mom would start singing one of the songs only a couple of words and Brooklyn would finish them. It is the cutest thing! We tried to get it on video but she just ended up being silly. Brooklyn is also OBSESSED with baths and showers. Anytime either of us are going to take a shower Brooklyn is naked within seconds saying "I shower too!" Last week she wasn't feeling good and all she wanted to do was take a bath (just like her momma) and she would take a 45 minute bath and took 2-3 of them a day.

As for me I am now 27 weeks pregnant and I feel like this pregnancy has gone by super fast but slow at the same time. March was really weird because I felt like I was supposed to be having the baby because I had Brooklyn in March. So that month went by super slow. But now it is starting to go a little faster. I feel really good! I am starting to notice that I am getting a little bit more tired but other than that I feel good. I am definitely a TON bigger than I was with Brooklyn and that has been hard for me. I know every pregnancy is different but it has been hard not to compare. I also wish I was still feeling nauseated at night because now I can't stop eating!! Casey is trying to help me because it really is bad. Every single night I have to have a bowl of captain crunch before bed, sometimes that is 11:00 and sometimes that is 2:00 a.m. Definitely something that needs to stop! But I can't sleep if I don't have it. I just lay there and think about it. This little guy is so active! And he is so so high. He is constantly in my ribs. Brooklyn pretty much lived in my back and on top of my bladder but this baby is all out front and up top. I would say that 90% of the day he is moving. They aren't little movements either. You can see and feel every single one. He rolls so much aslo it is so funny to watch my stomach. But almost 2 weeks ago now we had a little scare. It was the night of the Preisthood session of conference and I went into labor. (This also happened with Brooklyn at 30 weeks so I was grateful that I knew what to do this time) My contractions started right after the afternoon session on saturday and I noticed I was having them but just passed them off as braxton hicks. Well about 20 minutes before Casey was leaving I was not feeling good at all. I was really nauseated and the contractions were more noticeable and there was sooo much pressure in my "pelvic floor." I went to try and lay down but no matter how I layed it was hurting so much. So Casey came in to get dressed and said what is wrong and I told him what was going on and he asked me if I had timed my contractions and I had and they were really random so I told him that it couldn't be preterm labor. He asked if he needed to stay home and I told him to just go and I would just try and relax to see if that helped (I had seriously done nothing all day so I didn't know if it was really going to help) but I knew he had his phone if I needed him. Well at about 7:30 it was really bad and I knew I needed him. So I texted him and told him it wasn't getting better and I didn't know what to do. He asked me what my symptoms were and so I told him still the same. Well our doctor happens to be in Casey's parents stake and so when he told me to call the doctor I said he is probably at the Priesthood session. His dad then asked why he was texting and so he told him and his dad said that is so crazy because when he had first come in he had originally sat next to our O.B. So he knew exactly where to find him when it was over. So right as it ended Casey was able to talk to our doctor and tell him what was up and he said that we needed to go to the hospital and he would meet us there. I felt so bad because now Case wouldn't get to go out to dinner with his dad and brothers and now the doctor was going to have to leave his family for me! So we got to Davis hospital and got all checked in. They had me change, hooked me up to the moniters and checked me. Well I was starting to dialate. She said she could get through most of the cervix but that the top was still tight so that was really good. But the time the doctor got there he kept telling us how he was so grateful we came in. I was 25 weeks and that is waay too early for this little one to come. They checked everything with the baby to see if there was anything wrong with him to make my body think it was time. But he looked great. So we have no idea why but they gave me a shot to stop the contractions. And watched me for a couple hours and sent us home. I was on bed rest for a week and then he wanted me to slowly try and get back into things and see how it went. Well sunday night right after the last session ended the contractions started again (mind you I had done absolutely nothing all day but lay on the couch). I started to cry because I did not want to have to go back to the hospital and possibly stay there on bed rest. So I asked Casey to give me a blessing and he did and it was so amazing! It was a very strong blessing and within minutes the contractions and pressure were gone. The rest of the week I stayed on bed rest and then slowly started doing stuff. And it has been almost two weeks and no contractions! I am so grateful! The priesthood is seriously an amazing thing! I am so grateful to have it in my life and that I can call on Case whenever I need him.

Casey is still super busy with work and now he and his little brother are starting a graphic design company so that is taking up a lot of time at home. But he has been really good not to work on stuff until after Brooklyn goes to bed. Brooklyn loves her daddy and if he is home and not paying attention to her she has a melt down. We love him so much and are so proud of the success he is having at work and are so grateful for the dad and husband he is! Sunday is our 3rd anniversary!! I can't believe that we have been married for 3 years! It has flown by. I feel so lucky to be married to him and don't know how I got such a great catch. Every other year we switch of who plans our anniversary and this year it is his turn. I have no idea what we are doing and don't get to find out until may because we are going somewhere and combining it with my birthday. I am really anxious to see where it is we are going! So for this weekend to celebrate we are going to the temple on saturday and then to lunch.

I know I said this was a little update on our family but it ended up being really long! So if you got through it good job! And sorry if it is a little scatter brained, I blame it on the pregnancy! Also we just got a new imac and case hasn't put iphoto on it yet and I have no idea how else to upload pictures so as for now no pictures sorry! But when he puts it on I will put pictures up from the last few months!

Pregnancy

On Tuesday I will be 11 weeks. And I can't believe how different everything is this time around. It has been crazy how fast it has gone by so far. I swear with Brooklyn everyday I was on the computer reading about what she was doing, and with this one I have only checked a few times. It's not that I am not excited, it just doesn't seem real. Even at our ultrasound I was staring at the screen like is that really mine? But when I really sit and think about it I am so excited!! Casey and I talk about it all the time! Brooklyn likes to lift up her shirt and say "baby in a belly."  But this time I am also soo tired! I can't function if I don't get a nap (as in 3 hr nap). Luckily Brooklyn still takes really good naps so I am able to take one. But I feel bad for Casey because it is either I sleep or clean and so far I have chosen sleep. I haven't really been that sick either. I feel great all day and then around like 9:00 p.m. I get pretty nauseated. My cravings are a lot stronger this time around. Last time I would crave something and just be able to ignore it, but this time I HAVE to have it! (again sorry case) Everyone told me that your body remembers and it will change faster than it did with the first. And boy were they right! I haven't gained much weight but I sure have thickened around the middle. And other "things" are getting bigger, but I am not complaining :)

Been long enough...

I think so! I  have no idea why I hate blogging so bad but I do! But I am always happy once I have done it, its just doing it that is the problem. So hopefully you are ready for a picture overload! The last two months have been super crazy. In September we were out of town almost every weekend. Then October hit and I finally understood the meaning of a "hunter's widow." Luckily November has been very enjoyable and very relaxing.

Brooklyn update:
This girl never and i mean never stops talking. But I love it! She is starting to put words together and it is so cute to hear. She picks up on everything we say so we have to be super careful what we say around her. Last week we were backing out of Casey's parents driveway and there was some wood in the back of the truck and it shifted and made a loud noise and Brooklyn yelled from the back "Oh Crap!!"  Casey and I were laughing so hard. She said it exactly like I say it anytime I drop or spill something. She came to me the other day and she had spilled water all down her and she said to me "uhhh skinker (stinker)" another thing that I say when she spills. She is one smart little girl. Luckily she isn't naughty which is nice. If we tell her don't touch or not to do something, she won't. She is so scared to get in trouble just like her mama. Lately we have the joy of her stalling for bedtime. First she ask where the other parent is and want them to hold her, then we say like 5 prayers because we finish one and go to lay her down and she will fold her arms and say "payer." Then after the fifth time we tell her no more so she will ask for a song, so we sing songs and then she will ask for mommy's bed. Finally we just lay her in her bed and she yells for us for a minute but will eventually fall asleep. Mornings are the best with her. We have no idea where she got it from but she is definitely a morning person. The other morning Casey brought her into our bed and i had my back turned to her and she leaned over me and say "mom i miss you." It melted my heart! She also loves to tell Casey and I "ove eww" (love you). Brooklyn is OBSESSED with Dora! She knows all the songs and sings with the show. She has to watch Dora everyday. We have Dora fruit snacks, underwear (we just started potty training yesterday...so far so good) books, jammies, and a Dora telephone. She knows all the characters names and yells them out every time she sees them.

Nicole update:
I am still doing the same thing everyday being a stay at home mom. And I love it. Sometimes I am not a fan of the chores that go with it mainly laundry, but other than that its great. Last week I was able to have a much needed girls trip after the month of October being all by myself. Casey's mom took all of his sisters and I to Las Vegas. It was such a blast. I had never been there before and neither had my sister-in-law Jordanne so we did a ton of walking. And I was so dumb and didn't take any good shoes to walk in. While we were there we went and saw the Blue Man Group and I loved it!! I have been wanting to see them for soo long. We had amazing seats so that made it even more fun. After the show we went in the lobby to take a picture against a mural on the wall of them and as we were standing there one of the Blue men came and got in the picture and about gave us a heart attack. He snuck around the corner so quietly.  Then after that for any of you History channel watchers we went to "Pawn Stars" pawn shop. It was crazy to see it in real life. Casey and I love that show so he was a little jealous we went. It was a good break and we did tons of shopping which felt great!

Casey update:
We can now call him the "Ultimate Hunter" around here. He went on soo many hunts starting in September with an Elk hunt with his buddy Matt. They went every week for it felt like forever and got a great elk right before the deer started. We seriously never saw him. If he wasn't gone hunting he was constantly getting something ready for hunting. I swear he cleaned every gun we own and that his dad owns which is a ton between the two of them. But he had a very successful year, he was able to help Matt get the elk, then he shot a deer, then his little brother shot one, and then his brother-in-law Morgan shot one. He was pretty excited! Now we have 3 new deer skulls laying in the garage because he is cleaning them. And the deep freezer is stacked full of deer, elk, and buffalo meat ( which I hate because I won't eat any of them!) But now that hunting is over we finally get to spend some time together. Casey is doing really good at work and doesn't mind going at all. We love him so much and are very grateful that he works so hard so that I can stay home. Brooklyn loves doing things with Casey and he the same. They always go visit the horses next door a couple times a day.

So in love...

With this little girl! I seriously cannot get enough of her. She cracks me up. She is so full of life and is constantly on the go. Brooklyn is so sweet and loves to share with everyone. She loves babies so much and always gets down really close to them and talk to them in a really high voice it is so cute! But she definitely has a little bit of sass in her. She is the biggest tease, she will lean in and go to give you a kiss then turn her head and say NO.

Lately she has become quite the "mommy's girl" and I am loving it! She has even starting calling Casey mommy also. And he is not a fan! But I really love how close Brooklyn and I have become. She is my little mini me and best friend. The older she gets the more fun we are having with her. I feel bad to say this but I really am not ready for another kid just yet. I am having too much fun with Brooklyn.

A few of my favorites of Brooklyn:
  • She pats my back or arm when she gives me "luvs"
  • Whenever someone leaves she says "bye bye, love you"
  • She feeds her babies her sippy cup and says "num num" while doing so
  • Whenever I put on make up I have to put some on her (I just rub my bronzer brush on her face)
  • The way she puckers her lips when I put lip gloss on her
  • How she has to wear her "pretties" (necklaces) everywhere we go
  • How excited she is when she folds her arms through a prayer. She claps and says yay.
  • She will run out of a room and come back in and say "BOO"
  • If there is ever a quiet moment she will look at you and say "BOO"
  • Our game she loves to play. I pretend to sleep and she says "BOO" to wake me up. Then she pretends to sleep and she breathes really hard out of her mouth like she is snoring till I scare her.
  • She wants to snuggle before her nap and when she wakes up
  • How obsessed she is with driving anything and everything

HAWAII

At the beginning of this month we went with Casey's family to Hawaii. We were gone for 8 days with no babies. :( It was so hard to leave Brooklyn, but my AMAZING mother stayed at my house with Brooklyn. We went to 2 different islands while we were there. First we went to Oahu for 3 days and then we went to Maui for 5 days. We had so much fun. It was one of the best trips I have ever been on! While we were on Oahu we stayed in Waikiki Beach. It was so much fun. We stayed at a resort in Maui so while we were in Oahu we wanted to do all the touristy stuff. So the second day we were there we went to the swap meet, the Dole pineapple factory, the "LOST" beach, the Temple, and then we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. This just happened to be the day we left our camera at the hotel. So I don't have any pictures but Casey's mom was kind enough to take pictures for us. The next day we went to Pearl Harbor and then that night we flew out to Maui. In Maui we did a lot of relaxing by the pool and on the beach. Our resort was amazing! Just a short walk down the beach was "Whalers Village" it was a fun shopping center with some fun restaurants. We ate soo well on this trip! But the best part of the trip was when we were snorkeling at the reef in front of our resort when 3 huge sea turtles came swimming in. Sea turtles are my favorite! Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with them, so I was freaking out when this happened.

Waiting to leave
